Zephyrs Begin Four-Game Homestand Saturday

Metairie, LA - The New Orleans Zephyrs return to Zephyr Field on Saturday to begin a four-game homestand against the Omaha Royals at 6:00 p.m.

The Zephyrs currently sit in second place the Pacific Coast League American South Division, three games behind the Oklahoma RedHawks. The Zephyrs will welcome back Omaha, who began their current 16-game road trip in New Orleans last Monday. The Z's entered Friday's game with a chance for a second straight winning road trip, having won three of five games in Oklahoma before concluding the trip in Iowa.

The Zephyrs are among the hottest teams in the Pacific Coast League in the month of June, with a .280 team batting average and 96 runs scored, both fourth in the league during the month.

The series pitching probables are as follows:

Saturday 6 p.m. vs. Omaha: RH Brian Stokes (7-5, 4.00 ERA) vs. LH Tyler Lumsden (2-7, 6.88 ERA) Sunday 2 p.m. vs. Omaha: RH Nelson Figueroa (3-1, 3.18 ERA) vs. RH Roman Colon (2-2, 4.88 ERA) Monday 7 p.m. vs. Omaha: RH Tony Armas (5-6, 2.47 ERA) vs. LH Horacio Ramirez (1-1, 1.42 ERA) Tuesday 12 p.m. vs. Omaha: LH Willie Collazo (4-4, 3.96 ERA) vs. RH Matt Wright (2-4, 5.38 ERA)

Baseball meets the big top on Sunday, Kids Day, when members of Ringling Brothers/Barnum & Bailey's Circus will be on hand. Monday is Senior Citizens Night, with all fans 65 years and older receiving $5 admission, and it will be Two Can Tuesday, when fans who bring two canned food items will get a buy one, get one free ticket deal for the noon start.

During all four games on the homestand, the Zephyrs will be collecting monetary donations to benefit the American Red Cross in Des Moines, Iowa, in response to the floods that have ravaged much of the state. All fans who donate at least $5 will receive a free ticket to the Zephyrs' July 10 game against the Memphis Redbirds.
