Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release

Shane Loux continued his mastery of the Colorado Springs batters, leading the Bees to a 6-4 victory, and preventing a sweep in front of 5,766 fans at Security Service Field Friday night.

Loux (9-3) won for the second time in three tries against the Sky Sox. He held the opposition to just three hits and no runs during his seven innings of work, lowering his ERA to 2.41 in 18.2 innings against Colorado Springs this season.

Jason Hirsh (0-1) had a rough go early, allowing the Bees to score in each of the first four innings.

Dee Brown hit a two-run double in the first inning to put Salt Lake on the board. The Bees added two more runs in the second inning and one run in each of the next two innings.

The Sky Sox made a valiant comeback, bringing the winning run to the plate with two outs in the ninth, but Jason Bulger struck out Christian Colonel to end the threat and the game.

Colonel added a solo home run the previous inning to put the Sky Sox on the board.

Colorado Springs plays host to the Fresno Grizzlies Saturday at 7:05 PM for the first of a four-game set. Sean Smith (0-0, 4.24) will square off against Victor Santos (4-1, 3.32).
