Zephyrs Beat Isotopes 4-3, Finish off Four Game Sweep.

Albuquerque - The New Orleans Zephyrs scored a run in the ninth inning to defeat the Isotopes 4-3 to finish off their first ever sweep in The Duke City.

The game was tied at three in the ninth when the Zephyrs drew a pair of walks. Kenny Wilson skied a ball toward the second basemen and Joey Wong lost it in the bright sun and Adrian Nieto scored to give the Zephyrs a 4-3 lead.

Cody Ege pitched the and eighth and ninth inning to earn his first win of the season. Simon Castro took the loss for Albuquerque.

The Zephyrs trailed 2-0 in the sixth inning when New Orleans scored three two out runs to take the advantage. The Isotopes tied the game with a run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Albuquerque took advantage of a season high three Zephyr errors scoring two unearned runs.  

The Zephyrs have won four in a row and improve to (19-23) on the season.

GAME NOTES

The Zephyrs bullpen earned the win Sunday. The pen did not allow a hit or a run in the final 7.2 innings of the series, spanning three games.

New Orleans completed its first four game sweep of the season and first since last July 27th in Nashville. New Orleans did have a rain shortened two game sweep vs. Memphis earlier this season.

The Zephyrs have won four in a row for the first time since May 2. The team finished 13-13 on the stretch of playing 20 of 26 on the road. The Zephyrs now play 16 of 20 at home.

The Zephyrs committed a season high three errors. New Orleans leads the league with fielding percentage and committing the fewest errors in the PCL. New Orleans has 21 errors in 42 games.
