Zephyrs Back in Town for 8-Game Homestand

Metairie, LA - The New Orleans Zephyrs open an eight-game homestand on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. with the opener of a four-game set against the Salt Lake Bees, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim . The Z's will then welcome the Seattle Mariners' top affiliate, the Tacoma Rainiers, who own the PCL's best record at 20-11, for the four-game series beginning Saturday.

Zephyrs pitchers have dominated opponents through the first 11 games at Zephyr Field this season, posting a 2.09 ERA, and Zephyrs closer Chris Hatcher leads the league with 10 saves.

The pitching probables for the Salt Lake series are as follows:

Tuesday 7 PM vs. Salt Lake : LH Brian Flynn (0-2, 3.75) vs. RH A.J. Schugel (0-1, 6.21)

Wednesday 7 PM vs. Salt Lake :RH Jacob Turner (1-3, 6.56) vs. RH Matt Shoemaker (2-4, 4.38)

Thursday 7 PM vs. Salt Lake : LH Duane Below (2-0, 3.27) vs. RH Kip Wells (0-2, 15.00)

Friday 7 PM vs. Salt Lake : LH Brad Hand (2-2, 2.76) vs. RH Orangel Arenas (1-5, 6.57)

The homestand begins with Catholic Charities Night on Tuesday with specials on $3 tickets and $1 hot dogs . Thursday night's contest is sponsored by East Jefferson General Hospital and is Budweiser Thirsty Thursday, with $1 sodas and draft beers and $2 cans of beer throughout the night, plus the first 1,000 fans will receive a pair of Gildan boxer briefs. The Zephyrs will battle the evil forces of Salt Lake on Superhero Night on Friday, capped by a postgame fireworks show. The first 1,000 fans to Saturday's game will receive a Zephyrs Concert Series T-shirt, with High Voltage taking the stage following the game for a concert. The first 500 moms to Sunday afternoon's Mother's Day matinee will receive a flower from Villere's Florist, and the characters from Nickelodeon's Yo Gabba Gabba will be at the ballpark all weekend for a special appearance .
