Elmira Jackals News Release

Elmira, NY - The Elmira Jackals announced today that they have traded defenseman Vaclav Zavoral to the Kansas City Outlaws Wednesday for future considerations.

The deal sent Zavoral to the Outlaws after he played Wednesday's game against Danbury. In return the Jackals will receive a player to be named later; future considerations to be selected from Kansas City between April 1st and April 4th of 2005.

"It was just a case of when you're dealing with the salary cap and you bring players in, you have to let players out," said Jackals Head Coach Todd Brost. "We had nine total defenseman after the additions of Foster and Weber, so we had to move someone out."

The 6'3" 218 lbs Zavoral played in all 19 games for the Jackals so far this season, scoring two goals and adding one assist, while acquiring 27 minutes of penalties and a -2 rating. The 23-year old Czech Republic native will now suit up for the Outlaws, the third UHL team of his young pro career.

The Jackals return to action Friday night as they host the Flint Generals for the first time this year at the First Arena; a 7:30 pm face off which is the second of four games this week.
