Kansas City Outlaws News Release
(Kansas City, MO --- November 26, 2004) â The Outlaws got their revenge from the previous night's loss to Kalamazoo, beating the Wings 3-1 in front of 4073 at Kemper Arena, improving their home record to 3-1and their overall record to 7-11-1.
The two teams came out aggressive in the first, as the latter part of the period had the Outlaws Jason Ruff and the Wings Tyler Willis go toe to toe, making it the first significant fight for the home fans in the history of the team. However, Ruff did not return suffering a hand injury. Shortly after the altercation, the Outlaws struck first blood on the scoreboard with a goal by Mark Lee, assisted by Joe Seroski (15:23 in the first).
A defenseman loves to score ... Outlaws defenseman Mike Domkiewicz nailed home the game's second goal, as the home team jumped to a 2-0 lead (assisted by Steve Yetman), 3:23 into the second period. The Outlaws defense was the story of the second, as they allowed only two shots in the period.
The Outlaws could not stay comfortable in the third period once Sean Starke scored the Wings first goal and cut the lead in half (assisted by Chad Allan), 9:13 into the period. But an open net goal by Seroski sealed the win for the Outlaws.
General Manager Joe Bucchino announced yesterday a trade with Elmira Jackals. The Elmira Jackals have traded defenseman Vaclav Zavoral to the Kansas City Outlaws for future considerations. The deal sent Zavoral to the Outlaws after Elmira played on Wednesday against Danbury. The 6'3" 218 lbs Zavoral played in all 19 games for the Jackals so far this season, scoring two goals and adding one assist, while acquiring 27 minutes of penalties and a -2 rating. The 23-year old Czech Republic native will now suit up for the Outlaws, the third UHL team of his young pro career.
Zavoral is moving from Elmira and will be available next week. The Outlaws also announced yesterday was the release of Eric Erb.
