
Zargoza Leads Washington to 3-1 Victory

Washington, Pa - The Wild Things defeated the Gateway Grizzlies by a score of 3-1 at CONSOL Energy Park on Friday. The victory extends Washington's win streak to 4.
Austin Wobrock opened the scoring for the game in the second inning when he hit a line drive to left center field to drive in Jimmy Yezzo and Daniel Poma.
In the sixth inning Matt Ford's sacrifice fly plated Poma, giving Washington a three run edge.
In the eighth inning Gateway got on the board with an unearned run.
Ernesto Zargoza, who pitched seven scoreless innings, allowed only one hit and struck out seven, earned the win for Washington, and Jonathan Kountis was credited with the save.
The Wild Things and Grizzlies meet for game two of a three game set Saturday when first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Tickets are available at the CONSOL Energy Park Box Office. The game will be broadcast live on WJPA 95.3 FM and on www.msasports.net. Air time is 6: 55.
