CHESTER, Pa. - The Philadelphia Union II played to a 0-0 draw in the 2020 season opener at home Saturday night. Head Coach Sven Gartung and newly signed midfielder Jack McGlynn both made their Union II debuts. Union II outshot Loudoun United FC 14 to five on the night and saw a potential match winner find the post in the 90th minute. Union II returns to action next weekend Saturday, March 14 at WakeMed Soccer Park against North Carolina FC (2:30 p.m. ET /ESPN+).

16-year old midfielder Jack McGlynn made his professional debut one day after signing his first pro contract, coming on as a substitute in the 62nd minute.
18-year old midfielder Axel Picazo wore the captain's armband for the first time. He completed 86% of his passes, created two chances and put a shot on target in 90 minutes of action.
The Union II high-pressure style was efficient with the Union offense outshooting Loudoun United 14-5, winning 72 duels and only allowing 22% of the possession in its own third.
