(AUSTIN, Texas) New Mexico United fell to Austin Bold FC, 1:0 in their 2020 season opener. In the 51st minute, Austin's Iwa Twumasi was fouled by New Mexico United Defender Justin Schmidt in the box, and Forward Andre Lima converted the penalty kick for the match's only goal.

United controlled possession and put more shots on goal, but Austin Goalkeeper Diego Restrepo logged a clean sheet, and the Bold grabbed all 3 points.

Next up for New Mexico - FC Tulsa. United will be at ONEOK Field next Saturday, March 14.
