(York, Penn., April 25, 2015) - The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the York Revolution 3-1 on Saturday night in the middle game of a three-game series at Santander Stadium.
Long Island scored the game's first run in the second inning on Jon Griffin's RBI single to center field off York starter Anthony Lerew. It stayed that way until the fourth when Brandon Jones hit a two-out three-run home run to right-center off Ducks starter Mark Rogers. The Ducks threatened with a runner on base in each inning, but they could not complete the rally back.
Lerew (1-0) picked up the win, tossing five innings, allowing one run on five hits and two walks while striking out six. Rogers (0-1) suffered the loss, yielding three runs on five hits and one walk with four strikeouts in five innings. Josh Judy collected his first save with a scoreless ninth inning.
Cody Puckett and Dan Lyons each had two hits to lead the Flock.
Long Island and York wrap up their three-game set on Sunday evening. Game time is slated for 5:00 p.m. at Santander Stadium. Right-hander Ian Marshall toes the rubber for the Ducks against Revolution southpaw Logan Williamson. Fans can follow all the action live with streaming audio on the Ducks' official YouTube channel.
The Ducks will return home for the 2015 Home Opener on Friday, May 1 when they face the Sugar Land Skeeters. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 5:35. The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a Lew Ford Bronze Figurine, courtesy of P.C. Richard & Son.
