May 4, 2010 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY - Yard Dawgz top offensive lineman, Kelly Butler, has been offered and accepted a contract to play with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League.

Butler's (6'8, 330) knowledge of and relationship to Head Coach Sparky McEwen led him to the Yard Dawgz in 2008. Since 2008, Butler has spent the last three season of arena football as an anchor to the Dawgz offensive line. Prior to joining the Dawgz, Butler started over 20 games during his three plus seasons in the National Football League while playing for both the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns. The Purdue graduate was drafted in the sixth round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions.

"The Yard Dawgz organization will miss a true professional within the Oklahoma City community and a physical force on the field that gave us 100% effort during his stay here in Oklahoma City. I only wish that the Yard Dawgz had every player on the roster that played the game with the passion of Kelly Butler. We wish him well in his continued success. No one deserves this opportunity more," commented Head Coach Sparky McEwen.

The Yard Dawgz return home on May 8th, to host the Bossier Shreveport BattleWings. Single game tickets are on sale, starting at only $10! The Yard Dawgz Block Party will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Reno and kickoff is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. For additional information, please call (405) 228-3294 or visit www.okcyarddawgz.com.
