Brent Holmes Earns AFL Honors For Week 5

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Gladiators are pleased to announce that Brent Holmes' 56-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in Week 5 over the Spokane Shock has been named the SPALDING HIGHLIGHT OF THE GAME by the Arena Football League office. Holmes scored with 1.6 seconds left on the clock, leading to the 72-68 win - the first of the season for the Gladiators.

Holmes becomes the first Gladiators player to be recognized for league honors for his performance on the field in 2010.

Holmes finished the 2008 AFL season as a member of the ArenaBowl XXII champion Philadelphia Soul and is in his first season with the Gladiators. Through five games in 2010, Holmes has caught 22 passes for 276 yards and six touchdowns, recorded one rush for six yards and 24 kick returns for 341 yards and one touchdown.
