Yard Dawgz Impress in Week Three

OKLAHOMA CITY-During the Yard Dawgz win over the Corpus Christi Sharks, milestone achieving performances by the team caught the attention of the arenafootball2 league. Yard Dawgz, QB Stan Hill and WR/DB Al Hunt, stood out among af2 players in week 3.

Stan Hill has been choses as the Schutt Offensive Player of the Week by the af2 league office. This is Hill's first league award of his career.

Hill (6'3, 215) helped lead the Yard Dawgz to an impressive 76-42 road win against the Corpus Christi Sharks. The former Marshall University standout was near perfect against the Sharks, completing 27-of-33 passes for 402 yard and 10 touchdowns, with o interceptions. Hils 10 TD passes tied for the third highest single-game total in af2 history, while his passing yards earned the sixth best single-game total in league history. Both were 2007 af2 season highs.

"I felt as a team that we played extremely well at Corpus Christi," said Head Coach John Fitzgerald. "Stan, the leader of the offense, was the beneficiary of it [the performance]. He had an outstanding game."

Other game award winners were ADT Defensive Player John Holland and Cutters Catch of the Game winner Danny Howard, all chosen by the media.

DS Holland (5'11, 185) was a finalist for the ADT Defensive Player of the Week. During the team's win, Holland collected 8 solo and 11 total tackles. Howard (6'2, 195) racked up five touchdowns passes and 143 receiving yards to become the Cutters Catch of th Game award winner.

In the first quarter of the Yard Dawgz game at Corpus Christi, Hunt (5'11, 215) became the 9th player in af2 history to reach 100 career touchdowns. He also collected 80 receiving yards in the contest, bringing him to 4,000 career receiving yards, 14th in af2 history.
