THE STAKES: The Dusters look to bounce back after a tough loss in Tulsa last Saturday night. This game is a Central Division match-up, and will likely have an impact with respect to the race for the division championship. The Dusters look to improve upon their 19-8 all-time record at home.
The Twisters advanced to the Conference Finals in 2006, and aim to claim the Central Division Championship and return to the playoffs again this season. They secured their first win of the season on Sunday against Lubbock. The teams split the series last season, as they both won at home.
COACH PERDUE'S THOUGHTS ON ARKANSAS:
"We know what to expect from the Twisters. Coach Gregory is a veteran coach in arenaball, and he always has his guys ready to play hard. He always puts together a talented team, and they all respect him. They are a veteran team, and they obviously know how to execute. We can't turn the ball over like we did last week, and we must make stops on defense. We got after each other pretty hard when we played last season, and I expect that it will be a very physical game again on Friday night. It's a divisional game for both of us, and nobody wants to go home with a losing record after this one. "
DUSTERS HEAD COACH STEVE PERDUE
BERGESKI MAKES A BIG SPLASH IN AMARILLO:
Dusters' rookie WR Steve Bergeski has proven himself to be an impact player in his first two appearances in af2. Thus far, the 6'1, 195 product from Central Connecticut State has hauled in 14 passes for 227 yards (16.2 yards per catch) and 5 touchdowns. Hailing from New Jersey, Bergeski had private workouts for the AFL's Philadelphia Soul prior to joining the Dusters in March.
KEY MATCHUP: TWISTERS VETERAN RECEIVERS VS. DUSTERS VETERAN SECONDARY
Arkansas receivers Jon Schoonover, Kevin Williams, and Robert Kilow have a combined 10 seasons of af2 experience between them, and will rely on their knowledge as they do battle this week against the Dusters secondary. Terrell Mingo and Jahmal Fenner were both rookies in 2006, and have both registered interceptions through 2 games this season.
