April 19, 2007 - arenafootball2 (af2) News Release

BOSSIER CITY, La. - The ArenaCup, the championship game of arenafootball2, will have a Cajun flavor to it again this summer. ArenaCup8, presented by Horseshoe Casino and Hotel, will be held at the CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, Louisiana on Saturday, August 25, the af2 league office announced today.

The Shreveport-Bossier City area will be the backdrop for the league's season-ending, showcase event for the second time in the last three seasons. The 2005 ArenaCup was held in Bossier City as well.

"We are excited to bring the ArenaCup back to the Bossier-Shreveport community," said af2 President Jerry Kurz. "This year's game promises to be our best championship event ever."

This will be the third straight season the af2 has held a neutral-site ArenaCup championship game. The 2006 ArenaCup was held in San Juan, Puerto Rico at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico. Prior to 2005, the af2 championship game was held at the venue of the participating team with the best overall record.

"We're honored to have another opportunity to host af2's premier event," said Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings managing operator Dan Newman. "Our community is excited for the chance to showcase all that this area has to offer, and I know that fans from across the country will be treated to a super party."

"We are also thrilled to have Horseshoe Casino and Hotel join forces with af2 for our National Championship game. Horseshoe again and again proves to our local community and the nation that it is a great partner for major national, regional, and local events," added Newman.

Tickets for the 2007 ArenaCup can be purchased by calling 888-277-5526.

ArenaCup Weekend will include a calendar filled with fan-friendly events and activities. Additional details on ArenaCup Weekend will be released shortly.
