Yard Dawgz Begin Training Camp March 10

OKLAHOMA CITY-Saturday, March 10th, marks the beginning of training camp for the 2007 Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz. Camp will be held at several locations throughout the city, including the Ford Center, Cox Convention Center, the University of Central Oklahoma, and Indoor Soccer Arena (ISA).

Team are allowed to enter training camp with 37 players, including two international players, but must cut to 30 by March 12th. The final roster of 22 (19 active; 3 inactive) will be announced on March 26th.

The 13 returning members from last year's squad including, WR/DB Al Hunt, OL/DL Barry Giles, OL/DL Drew Mitchell, and WR/DB Fred Shaw, will be vital in leading the team to the ArenaCup.

One key battle will be at quarterback with Jerad Romo (Southern Methodist University), Stan Hill (Marshall University), and Cody Hodges (Texas Tech University) vying to fill the vacant position.

"The most exciting thing for me is getting on the field and coaching for the first time," said Head Coach John Fitzgerald. "Now the administrative duties are over and the real work begins."

2006 marked the most successful season in Yard Dawgz history with a regular season record of 11-5 and their third consecutive playoff appearance.
