Texas Copperheads News Release

HOUSTON- The Texas Copperheads of the arena football 2 league (af2) are pleased to announce that students Aubrey Oswalt and David Guardado have been selected to help the Texas Copperheads as Student Managers. The duo served the Labay 7th grade A team as quarterback and running back respectively and the students excel both on the field and in the classroom.

The students will help set up game day operations and also assist the staff and coaches with their needs as they arise. They also attend all practices and coordinate the equipment.

"We like to work with the area students and show them what arena football is all about. Aubrey and David will learn leadership skills and hopefully come away with some special experiences," said Texas Copperheads Head Coach Bryan Blake. "I am happy to compliment the learning process for these students."

Copperheads Head Coach Bryan Blake added, "The experience and resources students gain from an experience like this will stay with them for a long time."

"We are always pleased when our young players like Aubrey and David have an opportunity to see the dedication, and work ethic of those that make it to another level, whether that is High School, college, or the pros. I'm really glad they have this opportunity. It will be interesting to see what they pick up on that can be translated into success at their level," said Tim Wood, Labay Defensive Coach.

David Guardado said, "The Copperheads are eager to provide the support we need and back it up with their own hands-on experience. This is not an offering you will find anywhere else for a junior high student."
