Houston, TX - The af2 recognized two Texas Copperheads with all-af2 honors on Wednesday afternoon. Overall, players from 25 of the league's 29 teams were selected to either the American or National Conference all-af2 first and second teams as voted on by af2 head coaches and media.

Copperheads' all-time leading scorer (209 points) Nick Gatto was voted National Conference first team kicker. In 2008 Gatto led the af2 in field goals made (17) and field goal percentage (39.5%). Gatto also converted 90.6% of his point after touchdown attempts which ranked 3rd in af2. Gatto, who led the Copperheads with 109 points scored, also accounted for 8 special teams tackles (7 solo and 2 assists) which were all touchdown saving. The veteran kicker's first team National Conference selection qualifies him as a finalist for af2 kicker of the year honors. The af2 is expected to announce the kicker of the year on Friday August 8.

James Todd, Texas' all time interception leader (11), was selected National Conference all-second team defensive back. Todd, an af2 rookie, picked off 11 passes in 2008 which led Texas and ranked 6th best in the league. Todd also led the Copperheads in tackles (73.5), passes defended (18) and fumbles forced (3).
