Ben Bennett Ready For Third Training Camp In Manchester

The 2007 Manchester Wolves arenafootball2 season has officially kicked off, as 31 players hoping to make the final 22 man roster have reported to Manchester, New Hampshire from all over the nation.

Wolves fans will be happy to know that some of their fan-favorites will be coming back for another great season in Manchester, as currently 11 players from last year's squad are returning. Those players include: OL/DL Mike Wells (New Hampshire), WR/DB David Bailey (New Hampshire), OL/DL Abdul Wiggins (Chowan College), OL/DL Lamar "Turtle" Bryant (Maryland), OL/DL DeShon Stovall (Akron), WR Ari Confesor (Holy Cross), OL/DL Jimmy Williams (SE Missouri State), K Dylan Pohlman (Tabor), OL/DL Adam Hoffman (Shepherd College), WR Jesse Tupper (British Columbia) and OL/DL Ramal Faunteroy (Shepherd University).

Among the new mix of talent that is expected to make training camp very competitive for that 22 man roster are: WR Jarrail Jackson (Oklahoma), QB Shawn Brady (Northeastern University), FB/LB Bobby Blais (Manchester Central High School), FB/LB Adam Fichter (Temple), OL/DL Andrew Schoepfer (Holy Cross), WR Andy Wellendorf (College of Mount St. Joseph), FB/LB Charles Ganske (Dartmouth College), K Connor McCormick (New Hampshire), DB Dennis Johnson (Southern Mississippi), FB/LB DJ Szymoniak (Northwood University), OL/DL Guy Mazard (Youngstown State), OL/DL James Midboe (Bemidji State), OL/DL Jeffrey Lewis (Benedict College), DB Patrick Horne (University of Louisiana- Lafayette), WR Patrick Rouzard (Northern Michigan), DB Rod Chance (Rhode Island), FB/LB Lawrence Canada (Valparaiso), DB Ronald Frazier (Shepherd University), Brandon Harston (Minnesota) and DB Travis Pugh (Clemson).

The first course of action for all 2007 Wolves players will be passing a mandatory af2 league physical which will be performed by Apple Therapy in Manchester. Tonight at 7pm players will also get issued their helmet and practice wear at the Sleep Inn in Londonderry - the official training camp hotel of the Manchester Wolves.

The Manchester Wolves 2007 training camp will then start on March 10 at 7-9pm at Bedford's Rising Stars Sports Complex in Bedford, N.H. The Wolves currently have 31 of their possible 35 roster spots filled with the remaining vacancies, especially in the quarterback position, expected to be filled in the next remaining days.

"We have just a couple of roster spots left," added Bennett. "We have a lot of talent coming back but I intend to give some new players a look. If they prove they belong, they'll be here."

Also coming up in March along with the daily practice schedule will be a intra-squad scrimmage on March 17, 7-9pm (Rising Stars), Fan Fest II at the Hampshire Hills Hampshire Dome in Milford, NH which will feature a scrimmage between the Albany Conquest and the Manchester Wolves (5:30-7:30pm), final cuts on March 22 and the Manchester Wolves 2007 Media Day on March 26 at 5pm at the Rising Stars Complex.
