FLORENCE, Ky - A Florence Y'alls victory led by a strong bullpen and consistent offense secured a series sweep over visiting Équipe Québec at Y'alls Ballpark in Florence, Kentucky on Father's Day afternoon.

Right fielder Chad Sedio got the scoring started for Florence, hitting a solo home run over the right field wall in the bottom of the first inning. During Sedio's next time up, he extended the Y'alls lead to 2-0 with an RBI double to bring home center fielder Andre Mercurio.

After three scoreless innings from Florence starter Frank Valentino, the Québec bats began to put the barrel on the baseball. Québec scored three runs in the fourth inning on four hits, three of them for extra bases including a Jesse Hodges two-run home run.

Florence answered immediately, putting up a three spot of its own. Second baseman Harrison DiNicola led off the inning with a solo home run which was followed two batters later by a Jordan Brower two-run round tripper.

A similar story for Québec in the top of the fifth, as they chased Valentino after just four 1/3 innings. Équipe Québec scored four runs in the inning before Alex Wagner put out the fire.

The Y'alls offense did not quit. A leadoff double from Sedio, his third extra base hit of the day, and a home run from catcher Trevor Craport tied the game at seven. The same duo would come to the plate in the bottom of the seventh, piecing together back-to-back singles to give the Y'alls an 8-7 lead.

Evy Ruibal earned the win out of the bullpen to improve to 2-0 on the season. Joe Dougherty recorded his third save of 2021, second on the staff to Johnathon Tripp (five). Québec's Nick Horvath fell to 1-1 with the loss.

The Y'alls travel to Pennsylvania to take on the Washington Wild Things for a three-game series beginning Tuesday.
