Florence Y'alls News Release

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Florence Y'alls took a loss on the road in the first game of the series against the Evansville Otters at Bosse Field on Tuesday night.

The bottom of the Otters lineup led the way to put Evansville in the lead mid game. Andrew Penner and Gary Mattis each went 2-for-3 with the four hits resulting in all four runs. Mattis made his first professional debut Tuesday night and was sure to leave an impression, hitting two doubles and was driven home from a sacrifice fly to center and passed ball.

Jordan Brower scored the only run for the Y'alls with a solo home run to right field. This effort was one of only four hits from Florence.

Florence's Kevin Hahn put up four strikeouts and paced himself to a complete game for the righty. Evansville's Ryan O'Reilly tripped up the visiting team with seven strikeouts. Logan Sawyer game in for the save, Evansville took the win 4-1.

This win puts Evansville 1.5 games behind the Y'alls and one shot closer to first place in the Frontier League West Division.

The Y'alls will take on the Otters in game two of the series Wednesday night at 6:35 CT/7:35 ET.
