Florence Y'alls News Release
Pomona, N.Y. - The Florence Y'alls (22-35) scored a run in three separate innings. The New York Boulders (31-27) answered every single time in the bottom half en route to a 7-4 victory at Clover Stadium in Pomona, N.Y. on Friday.
The Y'alls scored two runs in the first, one in the fifth, and one in the seventh. The 0-for-3 in shutdown innings led to Florence's demise in the series opener. A four-run bottom of the seventh gave New York its first lead, and an advantage that stuck until the end.
A combination of Darwin Ramos and Evy Ruibal allowed the four crucial runs, with three of them charged to Ramos. Jonaiker Villalobos started for Florence and pitched into the fifth inning.
Alberti Chavez led the offensive effort for the Y'alls with three base hits, all singles. The shortstop continues to lead Florence in batting average at over .320. Cooper Edwards reached base three times and scored two runs.
This is the first game of a three-game series in New York between the Y'alls and Boulders, the first ever meeting between the two organizations. Jeremy Ovalle is Florence's probably starting pitcher tomorrow, with Justin Alintoff going for New York. First pitch from Pomona is set for 6:30 p.m.
