Y'alls Drop Third Straight Game of Road Trip at Miners

Augusta, Nj. - The Florence Y'alls dropped yet another two-run game at the Sussex County Miners on Wednesday night at Skylands Stadium.

After scoring four times in the first three innings, Florence mustered just one baserunner in the final six innings of the game. Sussex County relievers sent down 16 batters in a row between the third and eighth innings.

All five of the Y'alls hits came in the first three innings. The highlight of Florence's day came in the top of the second when Trevor Craport led off the inning with a triple. Harrison DiNicola followed with an RBI bunt single to get the Y'alls on the board.

Florence starter Frank Valentino allowed four runs in the first inning on five consecutive hits. In his four-inning outing, Valentino gave up five earned runs on eight hits, striking out five.

Casey Grimm was phenomenal in his first relief outing of the season. The lefty tossed four innings of one-run ball, striking out two batters. Grimm went the first 3.2 innings without allowing a run.

The Y'alls return to Skylands Stadium on Thursday night to finish the series at 7:05 ET.
