
Yale University and the New Haven County Cutters Team-Up To Recognize Yale Staff

WEST HAVEN, CT- Yale University has chosen Historic Yale Field as the venue of four "staff appreciation" days at New Haven County Cutters games this summer. The Cutters are a member of the Can-Am League which includes 10 teams from Quebec to Atlantic City.
Historic Yale Field, home to the Cutters baseball team during the summer months, is playing host to Yale employees on four separate occasions this summer. The first three Yale University Staff Appreciation Nights were held on June 24, July 11 and July 22, while the final remaining one will be held on August 5. In addition, Yale employees and their families will be guests at all Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday games throughout the season.
"Yale University has been a strong supporter of the Cutters since our relocation to New Haven at the start of the 2004 season," commented Cutters President David Boyle. "We appreciate this further demonstration of support for the wholesome family entertainment provided at a Cutters game and believe the long-term benefits for both Yale and the Cutters will be significant."
Built in 1927, Yale Field has been graced over the years by such greats as Smoky Joe Wood, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, Ted Williams, Yogi Berra, George H.W. Bush, Roger Staubach, Bill Bradley, Ron Darling, Frank Viola, Doc Gooden, Nomar Garciappara, Derek Jeter, Scott Rolen, Todd Helton, Vlad Guerrero and Alfonso Soriano.
