Yager Wins East Division Most Sportsmanlike Player Award

For the second straight season, Brayden Yager is up for a Western Hockey League award.

The Moose Jaw Warriors forward was named the East Division's Most Sportsmanlike Player and a finalist for the Brad Hornung Memorial Trophy for WHL Most Sportsmanlike Player.

In his second season, Yager posted 28 goals and a career-best 78 points, while spending only 14 minutes in the penalty box.

Yager is up against Caeden Bankier from the Kamloops Blazers, Andrew Basha from the Medicine Hat Tigers and Gabe Klassen from the Portland Winterhawks.

Last season, Yager won the Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy as the WHL Rookie of the Year and then took home the Canadian Hockey League award as well.

The 2023 WHL Award winners will be announced from Tuesday, May 2 through Wednesday, May 10.
