
Heidt & Ziemmer Propel Cougars to 6-2 Victory in Game 4

Kennewick, WA - The Prince George Cougars, once again, evened up the best-of-seven series with the Tri City Americans after a convincing 6-2 victory on Wednesday at the Toyota Centre.
The Cougars came out flying in the opening 20 minutes and got rewarded with a pair of late first period goals that came 59 seconds apart. Koehn Ziemmer backhanded one by Tomas Suchanek at 17:55 and then Jaxsen Wiebe scored a terrific goal 59 seconds later at 18:54 to make it 2-0. The Cougars out-shot Tri-City 12-7 after the opening period. Ty Young was also fantastic in the first period which included the WHL's save of the night.
In the second, Ziemmer struck again under two minutes in as he whistled one by Tomas Suchanek off the rush to up the Cougars lead to 3-0.
Shortly after Ziemmer's second of the game, the Americans cut into the lead getting a goal from Tyson Greenway at 3:43. Tri-City put together some good chances, however, Ty Young continued his brilliance throughout the second period. The Americans out-shot PG 11-8 in the second.
In the final period, the Cougars got a massive goal from Riley Heidt just under 7 minutes in. Zac Funk sprung Heidt on a breakaway and cleanly beat Suchanek to make it a 4-1 game.
At 15:45, Jalen Luypen found himself all alone in the slot and put the puck past Young to make it 4-2. PG, however, sealed the game with a Jaxsen Wiebe empty-net goal and a power-play marker from Chase Wheatcroft at the final buzzer. The Cougars have knotted the series up at two which forces a Game 6 at the CN Centre on Sunday night at 6:00 PM.
