X's Take Series, With 11th Inning Win Versus Goldeyes

Sioux City-----T.J. Bohn lined a single to left field with the bases loaded and two out in the 11th inning that gave the Explorers a 7-6 win over Winnipeg at Lewis and Clark Park Wednesday.

Bohn was hitless in 12 at bats in the series before the game winner that scored Wally Backman, Jr. with the winning run. The victory gave the Explorers a two to one advantage over Winnipeg in the final game of the series. Losing pitcher Jon Plefka had loaded the bases in the 11th with three walks before Bohn singled to win the game. The contest was back and forth most of the night before the Explorers tied the game in the seventh inning on a RBI double by Ray Serrano, who finished the night with four hits and four RBI's. Derek Schermerhorn and Kent Sakamoto also had two hits apiece for the Explorers. Nick Schumacher started, but last only five inning for Sioux City. Andrew Snowden was the savior out of the bullpen pitching six innings, his longest outing of the season, was the winning pitcher.

The Explorers will have Thursday off before opening a three-game series at Lewis and Clark Park on Friday against Central Division leading Gary-Southshore.
