X's Take Down Cats Again... And Take Series

Gary, IN-----The Explorers rallied for four runs in the eighth inning as they defeated Gary-Southshore 5-3 Wednesday at U.S. Steel Yard.

The X's were trailing 2-1 going into the eighth, but sent nine batters to the plate in scoring the four runs which gave starting pitcher Nick Schumacher the victory. Eddie Delacruz pitched the final two innings to record the save. For the tenth straight game the Explorers have had ten or more hits in a game, Wednesday getting 11 hits off three Gary pitchers.

With the win the Explorers are now over the .500 mark and have moved to within 2 1/2 games of first place Gary-Southshore.

The Explorers will begin a four-game series Thursday at Lewis and Clark Park against St. Paul. Game time will be 7:05. Reserve your seats now for this (4) game series by calling 712-277-9467!
