Fargo-Moorhead 2, Kansas City 1 (10 innings)

Fargo-Moorhead designated hitter Kyle Nichols hit a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie the score at 1 and bring the game into extra innings, and the RedHawks beat Kansas City 2-1 in the 10th inning at Newman Outdoor Field. Kansas City scored the first run of the game in the top of the sixth inning when right fielder Ray Sadler singled to bat in center fielder Keanon Simon. After tying the score in the ninth, Fargo-Moorhead won in the 10th when Nichols hit a sacrifice fly to center field and scored shortstop Zach Penprase. Penprase led the RedHawks with three hits and one run in five at-bats, and Nichols chipped in two hits, one run and two RBI. Three different T-Bones recorded multiple hits to combine for Kansas City's 10 total hits, and Sadler led the way with two hits and one RBI in four at-bats. Donnie Smith, now 1-1 on the season, earned the win by allowing no hits, no runs and striking out one in .1 inning pitched.

St. Paul 13, Sioux City 11

Sioux City led St. Paul 10-2 after four innings, but the Saints relied on a late-game rally to come back and beat the Explorers 13-11 at Lewis & Clark Park. Catcher Ray Serrano hit a three-run homer in the first inning for Sioux City and designated hitter Brett Flowers followed in the third with a two-RBI single. In the fourth inning, third baseman Wally Backman batted in a run before Serrano hit a grand slam for his second home run of the game. St. Paul scored the next 11 runs during the fifth, sixth and seventh innings, including a three-run homer from first baseman Jason Cooper to end its scoring run. Designated hitter Ole Sheldon led the Saints with two hits, four runs and three RBI in three at-bats, and third baseman Ronnie Bourquin chipped in three hits and three runs. Serrano led Sioux City with two hits, two runs and eight RBI in the game. Kris Edwards, now 1-0 on the season, earned the win by allowing no ihts, no runs and striking out one in one inning pitched.

Lincoln 11, Amarillo 6

Designated hitter Rafael Alvarez knocked in three runs for Lincoln as the Saltdogs cruised to an 11-6 win against Amarillo at Haymarket Park. The Sox got on the board in the top of the first inning when left fielder Lee Cruz and third baseman Van Pope had back-to-back RBI, and Amarillo struck again in the next frame when center fielder Fehlandt Lentini batted in second baseman Alex Chavez. The Saltdogs scored their first runs in the fourth inning after Alvarez had a two-RBI double and second baseman Joe Ramos followed with an RBI of his own. After Amarillo scored two runs in the top of the next frame, Lincoln scored the next eight runs to take the lead once and for all. Amarillo scored a run in the top of the ninth, but it wasn't enough to complete a comeback. Four different Saltdogs had multiple hits in the game, and catcher Pat Trettel led the way with two hits, three runs and one RBI in three at-bats. Designated hitter Tim Alberts had three of Amarillo's 13 total hits, and he also chipped in one run and one RBI in five at-bats. Alessandro Maestri earned the win by allowing 10 hits, five runs and striking out three in five innings pitched.
