Sioux City Explorers News Release
Sioux City-----It took 12 innings and an unearned run, but the Explorers had their three-game winning streak snapped by Winnipeg here Wednesday 3-2.
Amos Ramon reached on an error by third baseman Bryan Pounds then later scored on a two-out single by Nick Liles that gave Winnipeg the lead and the win over the Explorers. The unearned run came off losing hurler Cody Satterwhite who lost his first game of the year.
The Explorers took a 2-0 lead in the third inning on a two-run double by Pounds. However, Winnipeg came back and tied the game at 2-2 with two runs in the top of the fourth.
The contest remained tied until Winnipeg scored the winning tally in the 12th inning. It was the second extra inning game for the Explorers in the past week as the X's defeated Wichita 7-6 in 11 innings on Saturday.
With the series tied at a game each, the Explorers and Winnipeg will close out the three-game set Thursday at Lewis and Clark Park with game time 7:05pm.
