Xplosion Sign Six To Training Camp Roster

PITTSBURGH, October 29, 2007 - The Pittsburgh Xplosion of the Continental Basketball Association today announced the signing of six players who will be brought into training camp beginning November 5.

Former Pitt standout and Xplosion draft choice Antonio Graves heads the list. Graves helped lead the Panthers to four twenty-win seasons and four NCAA Tournament appearances. Graves became an outside threat in his senior season, shooting better than 40 percent from beyond the arc.

The Xplosion also signed Lawrence Baker. Baker played in 17 games for the Xplosion last season, averaging 7.2ppg. He became a versatile member of the team, providing solid contributions as a guard and a forward. Xplosion coaches raved about his ability to fight for rebounds against bigger opponents.

McKeesport native Kevin Menifee joins the Xplosion after a solid college career at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Menifee played in 33 games last season for the Islanders, averaging 6.2 points, 3.3 assists, and 5.6 rebounds for the Southland Conference West Division and conference tournament champions. The Islanders earned their first-ever birth into the NCAA Tournament, losing to second-seeded Wisconsin in the first round, 76-63.

Former Michigan State Spartan Rashi Johnson also signed with the Xplosion today. Johnson played for head coach Tom Izzo for two seasons, averaging 6 points and 3 rebounds per game. Prior to Michigan State, Johnson starred at Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan. He averaged 24 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals per-game. During his two years at Mott, the National Junior College Athletic Association named him an All-American and received the Most Valuable Player award both years.

Lincoln Glass won a championship in the USBL with the Dodge City Legend in 2007. Glass played for the ABA's Indiana Alley Cats in the 2005-06 season, during which he posted a team-high 8 assists in a 131-116 win over the Xplosion.

Phillip Watson finished his career at Saint Xavier University in Chicago 3rd all-time in assists and 14th all-time in points. Watson also helped lead the Cougars to the Elite 8 of the NAIA Tournament.

Training camp runs November 5-14. Pittsburgh's 2007-2008 Continental Basketball Association schedule begins November 16 when the Xplosion host East Kentucky at the Petersen Events Center on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh.
