Xplosion move game to avoid Steelers conflict
November 16, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Pittsburgh Xplosion News Release
Pittsburgh, PA. The ABA Pittsburgh Xplosion has changed the date of an upcoming home game against the Detroit Wheels to avoid a conflict with the Nov 28 Monday Night Football game pitting the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Indianapolis Colts. The game has been moved to Wednesday, Nov 30 at 7pm at Mellon Arena from the Nov 28 date. Tickets purchased for the Nov 28 date will be honored on Nov 30.
"We rescheduled this game so Pittsburgh sports fans, including one of the Xplosion's owners, former Steeler Dwanye Woodruff, will have a chance to root for the Steelers and the Xplosion without missing either exciting game," said Xplosion CEO Richard Hersperger.
The Xplosion play for the first time at Peterson Events Center on Fri, Nov 25 at 7pm against the Kentucky Colonels. For tickets to all Xplosion home games, visit www. ticketmaster.com or call 412 323 1919. The team features former NBA players Armon Gillam and Myron Brown, plus other talented players with NCAA and professional basketball experience. Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
