Miami Majesty News Release

Sunrise, FL. The ABA Florida Pit Bulls unveil a new Hero program to recognize local heroes in the South Florida community, according to an announcement made today by Sybrena Foster, community relations director of the team.

During the 18 home games of the Pit Bulls, South Florida's newest professional sports team, the local Hero of the game will be recognized for outstanding efforts in the community. They wil be featured on the Florida Pit Bulls website, given recognition within the arena and presented with some gifts from the team.

The ABA, known as the "opportunity league" promotes the kind of positive enforcement within the league. To further promote this community-minded initiative, the Florida Pit Bulls want to honor those that help their fellow neighbors. This is one small way to say thank you to those that make this community a better place.

Our first Hero to be recognized will be Deyshaun Banks. This courageous young man attends Pembroke Pines Elementary with, who has come to be known as "Little Tony." These two young men were strangers, but as fate would have it, destiny appointed Deyshaun as Little Tony's guardian angel on Tony's first day of school.

Five year old Antonio was accidentally placed on the wrong bus on his first day of school, when a not so professional Broward County School bus driver forced him to get off the bus at a dangerous intersection. Deyshaun overheard Little Tony trying to explain to the bus driver, but he was forced off the bus in the wrong neighborhood.

Our hero, Deyshaun, sprung into action by running home to tell his grandmother about the lost little boy. Deyshaun and his grandmother returned to find Little Tony crying and walking down Douglas towards Pines Blvd. Remembering stranger danger, taught to Little Tony by his parents, he would not ride in the car, but our Hero Deyshaun wasn't discouraged. Deshaun comforted Little Tony as they walked together up Douglas to Pines Blvd and eventually safely into the arms of his worried mother. After wiping away his tears, all Little Tony had to say was, "If I ever have to walk so far again, please pack more juice."
