Everett Silvertips News Release
EVERETT, Wash. - Spectra by Comcast Spectacor, the providers of both Venue Management and Ticketing and Fan Engagement to the XFINITY Arena at Everett and the Everett Public Facilities District (EPFD), will unveil the largest enhancement in venue history, a new LED scoreboard, at the Everett Silvertips 2015-16 home opener on Saturday, October 10.
Designed to upgrade fan experiences, the center hung scoreboard display includes four main LED video displays measuring more than 14' wide by 11' high with angled visibility ensuring great visuals from any seat in the house. The variable content zoning technology allows for multiple images to be displayed on the screen at once, including statistics, graphics, in-game promotions, instant replays and live video.
"The addition of this new technology will redefine XFINITY Arena's guest experience and engagement at Silvertips games and other sporting events," said Spectra's Rick Comeau, General Manager at XFINITY Arena. "This innovation will also drive bottom-line impact for the EPFD through increased event bookings from international events like Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships, where high-end technology is necessary to professionally stage their events."
Two LED rings border the video displays, measuring 2.5' high and 14' in diameter, to display corporate sponsorship messages driving incremental revenue for the EPFD. Channel lettering above the top ring prominently displays the naming rights partner, XFINITY Arena. A secondary scoreboard has been installed at the east end of the Arena, measuring 19.5' wide by more than 7' high, displaying time, score, shots on goal, penalty time and other game statistics in real time.
"We appreciate the collaboration with the EPFD, Spectra, the City of Everett and the investment to enhance the overall game day atmosphere," said Zoran Rajcic, Executive Vice President and Assistant General Manager for the Everett Silvertips. "The new scoreboard, coupled with the installation of LED lighting prior to last season, will make for an unforgettable experience every time a Tips fan attends a game."
The existing scoreboard was dismantled in August and has been donated to Everett Public Schools for use in middle and high school gymnasiums.
The project was designed by The Rock Group, in partnership with OES and Lighthouse Technologies, global leaders in providing customized technology for stadiums, arenas and ballparks, including Safeco Field.
The Everett Silvertips face off for their first 2015-16 home game on Saturday, October 10 at 7:05 pm. Tickets are available now through the XFINITY Arena at Everett Box Office, charge by phone 866.332.8499, and online at xfinityarenaeverett.com. USA Gymnastics is expected to announce the Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships (April 8-10, 2016) ticket on sale date within the coming weeks.
