THE LEAD OFF: West Virginia was tripped 6-3 at Lexington on Friday night. The Legends plated a run on a balk by Dovydas Neverauskas in the second inning and knocked the Power starter out of the game with a two-run fourth for a 3-0 lead. West Virginia had base hits in each of the first five innings, but could not generate any run support. In the eighth, a Pablo Reyes base hit plated two and Jordon Luplow doubled in Reyes to tie the game at three. Lexington, however, rallied right back with three runs of Yuedy Garcia in the bottom of the inning. Garcia took the loss while Colin Rodgers was charged with a blown save before vulturing the win for the Legends.

WAIT FOR IT: West Virginia needs one win to reach the 100 victory plateau against Lexington. The Power have played the Legends more than any other team since the start of the 2005 season and have beaten Lexington 99 times over 95 meetings. West Virginia holds an all-time mark of 59-46 at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. The Power and Legends meet a total of 16 times this season, including four more games next weekend at Appalachian Power Park.

FAST FIVE: West Virginia earned its fifth victory of the season on Thursday, needing only seven games to reach that total and becoming the fastest team to five in franchise history. The 2007 Brewers-affiliated club reached the mark in eight games. The most it took any one Power team to reach five wins was 23 games during the inaugural 2005 season with Milwaukee. That team won its fifth game of the year on May 1.

FOR THE WIN: Austin Coley makes his second start of the season when he takes on Lexington tonight. The right-hander from Tennessee earned his first professional victory on Sunday afternoon at home against Savannah by holding the Gnats to two runs on four hits over five innings. Coley was 0-2 in eight games (all starts) for Jamestown in 2014.

WILD ONES: Power pitchers threw four wild pitches in Friday's loss to Lexington, matching the number thrown by the entire staff over the first seven games of the season. Eight wild pitches ranks the club with the second most in the league this season, behind only Asheville's nine. Seven clubs have thrown four wild pitches or less so far this season entering play Saturday.

DOH: Chase Simpson's hitting streak was stopped at five with an 0-3 performance Friday night. The infielder matched Tito Polo's streak at five for the longest by a Power player this season. Simpson did extend his on-base streak to eight straight with a second inning walk, good for second-best in the South Atlantic League this season.

IN THE LUP (LOOP): The Pirates promoted infielder Jordan Luplow to the Power roster on Thursday. Luplow, a third round draft choice in 2014 from Fresno State, was added to the roster from Extended Spring Training. Luplow hit .277 with Jamestown last season over 62 games with six home runs and 30 runs batted in.

POWER PROMO UPDATE- APRIL 25: The West Virginia Power will honor the 1990 Charleston Wheelers, the only team to bring a South Atlantic League title to Charleston. The entire team will be inducted onto the Charleston Baseball Hall of Fame and the first 1,000 fans will receive a commemorative t-shirt celebrating the 25th anniversary of the championship.

POWER POINTS: To create room for Jordan Luplow on the Power roster, Pittsburgh transferred pitcher Jose Regalado to the West Virginia Black Bears roster... Wednesday's combined no-hitter from Jake Burnette, Jose Regalado and Eric Dorsch was the second in West Virginia Power franchise history... West Virginia has stolen 14 bases this season, tied for third most in the SAL, but still trailing the league-leading Charleston RiverDogs by 15.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: The Pirates doubled up Milwaukee 6-3 at PNC Park. Starling Marte's two run home run in the eighth helped seal the win in the series opener... Indianapolis bested Louisville 3-2 in a 13-inning walk-off. Elias Diaz provided a pinch hit, RBI single to win it... Altoona beat Akron 2-1 for the second straight night. Tyler Glasnow struck out seven over six innings for the victory... Bradenton hammered Jupiter 11-6.

ON THE AIR: West Virginia Power games can be heard on Charleston's ESPN 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, online at wvpower.com and on the TuneIn Radio App. Adam Marco will call the action once again and will be joined by Mike Baggerman when the team plays at Appalachian Power Park.
