The Grasshoppers inched closer with a run in the bottom of the sixth, but failed to generate any more offense. Pat Ludwig earned the win in a spot start, Tom Harlan pitched three innings for his second hold, and Jason Creasy worked the ninth for his third save. Stetson Allie will play first base, Josh Bell will start in right field, and Dilson Herrera was selected as the starting shortstop. Walker Gourley was chosen as a reserve outfielder, while pitchers Orlando Castro and Tyler Glasnow were also selected to represent the Power. West Virginia, Hickory, Hagerstown, and Augusta each had six players selected by the league's managers, coaches, general managers, and media.

GO TIME FROM GREENSBORO: West Virginia concludes its' only 2013 series in Greensboro today. The Power lead the all-time set with a 66-51 mark. Since 2005, West Virginia has gone 31-27 at NewBridge Bank Park.

CALL UP DAY: Brandon Cumpton (2011) and Caleb Gindl (2008) each made their Major League debut on Saturday. Cumpton made his debut against the Los Angeles Dodgers, striking out five of the first six batters he faced but ultimately not factoring in the decision in a game that went to extra innings. Gindl pinch hit for fellow Power alum Yovanni Gallardo in the seventh inning of Milwaukee's 6-0 win over Cincinnati. Cumpton and Gindl have become the 32nd and 33rd players to don a Power jersey and play in the Majors.

START ME UP: Pat Ludwig made his first professional start on Saturday, going five innings in a spot role. Ludwig started 28 games during his collegiate career at Yale, but had only pitched from the bullpen since being drafted last June. Ludwig became the eighth starting pitcher used by the Power during the first half of the 2013 season.

EXTRA MEANS MORE: Friday's game was the longest game West Virginia has played this season. Friday's 12 inning contest lasted three hours and 49 minutes, 15 minutes longer than the Power's April 7 game against Asheville. Friday was also the second time the club has played a 12-inning game this year(5/23 vs. LWD). West Virginia is 3-3 in extra inning games during the 2013 season.

A RARITY OCCURRENCE: Walker Gourley went 0-6 Friday and was held without a base hit for the second straight game in this series. It was the first time in 55 games that the All-Star has gone consecutive games without at least one base hit. Gourley has reach on at least one hit in 43 of those 55 games and has only been kept of the bases a total of ten times. The Goldsboro, NC, native had two hits last night.

PROMO UPDATE- JULY 4- The Power will host the Lexington Legends on July 4 at 6:05 pm. The game will be followed by a fireworks show and a concert by the Davisson Brothers Band.

POWER POINTS: With home 17th home run of the season on Tuesday, Stetson Allie has matched Mat Gamel (2006) and Andrew Lefave (2007) with the fifth-best single season home run tally in Power history... Stetson Allie and Josh Bell both had Saturday night off, marking the first time this season that neither player was in the Power starting lineup... A win today will help the Power match the highest Victory tally in any half since West Virginia became a Power affiliate in 2009. The 2009 club had 40 in the second half and the club won 38 in the second half last year.
