THE LEAD OFF: West Virginia split a doubleheader with Lexington on Saturday, winning the first game 3-2 and falling 6-4 in the nightcap. Clay Homes and Pat Ludwig held the Legends to just one hit, a first inning home run by Fred Ford. Stetson Allie hit a solo home run in the second and the Power took the lead with a two run fifth. Glasnow struck out eight and Ludwig pitched three scoreless for the win. In the second game, the Legends scored six runs on eight hits of starter John Kuchno to build up their lead. West Virginia scored twice in the fourth and twice in the sixth, but could not rally all the way back.

SEE YOU LATER: Today's game marks the final meeting of the first half between the Power and Legends. West Virginia will welcome Lexington to town over the July 4 holiday weekend for a four game series and then play eight more games at Whitaker Bank Ballpark after that. The Power have played the Legends more than any other club since 2005, going 83-78 over 161 games. Neither team has a winning record at home in this series.

ONE HIT- TWO HIT: Tyler Glasnow and Pat Ludwig's combined one hitter in game one on Saturday was the first by West Virginia pitchers in nearly three years. Kyle McPherson and Jason Erickson combined to throw a one hitter against Lexington in a nine inning game on May 25, 2010 at Appalachian Power Park. Saturday's effort came on the heels of Clay Holmes, Bryton Trepagnier, and Ryan Hafner combining to pitch a two-hitter on Friday evening.

Mike Jefferson and Nathan Kilcrease worked the last two hitter prior to Friday; a seven-inning game on August 30, 2012 at Charleston, SC.

SNAPPED: Dilson Herrera had his seven game hitting streak stopped in game one on Saturday. The middle infielder went hitless in three at bats. During his streak, Herrera hit .555 with three home runs and six runs batted in.

OFF BASE: Josh Bell has his 17-game on-base streak snapped in game one Saturday. Bell had reached safely by hit or walk in every game he had played since April 28 in Savannah. It was the second longest on-base streak by a Power player this season, trailing only Max Moroff's 19-game run in April, and it was the sixth longest in the South Atlantic League this season.

DROUGHT IS OVER: Stetson Allie went 47 at bats between home runs. The infielder hit his seventh and eighth home runs of the season on April 29 at Savannah, but didn't hit his first in May until game one yesterday. Allie is batting .222 this month over 16 games with five runs batted in.

SECOND FASTEST: West Virginia's win Friday was their 20th of the season, making them the second fastest club to reach 20 wins in a season since the Power affiliation with the Pirates began. The 2012 edition of the Power did not win their 20th game of the season until June 9 in their 62nd game of the season. The 2011 club was 20-19 on May 19 after 39 games while the 2010 version was 20-22 on May 22. The inaugural club did not win their 20th game until game 52 on June 2, 2009 (game 52).

PROMO UPDATE- REDNECK NIGHT: The award winning Redneck Night is back on Saturday, May 25. The event will feature an appearance by Duck Dynasty's Mountain Man and the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a duck call. The 2012 version of this promotion was named as the best theme night in Minor League Baseball.

POWER POINTS: Walker Gourley has a seven-game hitting streak entering play in his next game... Lexington holds a 40-38 edge over West Virginia at Appalachian Power Park since 2005... West Virginia's next 18 games are against teams with records at .500 or below.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh lost to the Houston Astros 4-2 in 11 innings... Indianapolis knocked off Pawtucket 6-3. Josh Harrison, Jerry Sands, and Brett Carroll homered in the win... Altoona fell 5-3 at Richmond... Bradenton was shutout 10-0 by St. Lucie.

ON THE AIR: West Virginia Power games can be heard on Charleston's ESPN 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, WV, and online at wvpower.com. Adam Marco will call the action for all 140 games this season and will be joined by Mike Baggerman when the team plays at Appalachian Power Park.
