TONIGHT'S MATCHUPS

Game One: RH John Kuchno (1-1, 4.33) vs. LH Colin Rodgers (2-1, 2.84)

Game Two: RH Jason Creasy (2-0, 4.05) vs. LH Daniel Stumpf (3-0, 1.03)

THE LEAD OFF: The Power and Legends game on Friday was postponed due to unplayable grounds. West Virginia fell 2-1 Thursday in Lexington. Dilson Herrera hit a 3-1 pitch from Christian Binford down the left field line for his second home run of the season and a 1-0 Power edge after one half inning of play. The Legends loaded the bases in the bottom of the first and evened the score on a sac fly off Orlando Castro. Both starters settled in, facing the minimum five times each over the next six innings. In the bottom of the seventh, Michael Antonio hit a solo home run off Castro for the winning tally. Lexington's bullpen retired the final six batters in a row to close the game.

DON'T BLINK: Thursday's defeat at Lexington was completed in one hour and 43 minutes. It ranks as the fastest nine-inning game in West Virginia Power history by nine minutes. On September 3, 2012, Zack Von Rosenberg pitched a complete game in a 4-1 Power win over Delmarva in one hour and 52 minutes. It is the second time the Power have played a game in under two hours this season (1-0 loss at Savannah on 4/27 in one hour and 57 minutes).

RIVALRY WEEK AND A HALF: West Virginia will meet Lexington a total of 20 times this season, including seven more games over the next 10 days. The Power have played the Legends more than any other club since 2005, going 79-76 over 155 games. Neither team has a winning record at home in this series with West Virginia going 43-37 at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. The Legends hold a 39-36 edge at Appalachian Power Park, where the series resumes next week.

BROOMTOWN: The Power sweep of the Greenville Drive was their first during a four-game sweep in overa year. West Virginia's last four-game whitewash came against the Greenville in April of 2012 over the first four home games of last season.

CASTRO HONORED: On Monday, the South Atlantic League named Orlando Castro as its' Pitcher-of-the-Week for April 29- May 5. The southpaw pitched six shutout innings on Friday in West Virginia's 3-0 win over Greensboro, striking out seven and walking none. Castro is 3-2 this season with 29 strikeouts and just one walk over 33 innings pitched and joins Stetson Allie as the second Power player to be awarded by the league this season (April 4-14).

10 K GOLD: Tyler Glasnow's ten strikeouts on Tuesday set a new single-game high for a Power pitcher this season, surpassing Joely Rodriguez's Opening Day tally of eight against the Asheville Tourists. Glasnow's performance also marked the first time a Power pitcher had struck out double digit batters in any game since May 19, 2010 when Kyle McPherson retired 10 Delmarva Shorebirds on strikes.

PROMO UPDATE- MAY 18: The Power will host their annual WVU night on May 18 against Lexington. The first 1,000 fans through the gate will receive a Geno Smith bobblehead. All fans will have the chance to meet and greet Kevin Jones, Truck Bryant, and Da'Sean Butler. WVU Night is present by the WV Army National Guard.

POWER POINTS: Jason Creasy will make a spot start in game two of today's doubleheader. It will be the first start this season for the right-hander, but the 17th of his career... Orlando Castro has allowed a total of five runs combined over his three losses this season... John Kuchno's victory on Sunday was the first of his professional career and happened during his first-ever quality start... Pittsburgh promoted former Power pitcher Duke Welker to the active 25-man roster on Wednesday and optioned him back to Indianapolis earlier today to make room for Francisco Liriano. Welker did not appear in any games while on the active roster. The Power are the only team in the league that is undefeated on doubleheader days this season after Wednesday's twinbill sweep of Greenville.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh bet the New York Mets 7-3 Friday at Citi Field. Garrett Jones hit a three run homer to support Wandy Rodriguez's third win of the year... Indianapolis rallied back from an early hole to beat Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre 4-3... Altoona was rained out and will play Richmond twice today. Neil Walker is with the Curve on a rehab assignment... Bradenton lost 7-2 to Charlotte. Robby Rowland took the loss.
