
Wranglers Name Bilodeau Assistant GM/ Assistant Coach

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today the team has named Brent Bilodeau (Bill-uh-Dough) Assistant General Manager / Assistant Coach. Bilodeau will join General Manager / Head Coach Glen Gulutzan and current assistant coaches Jeff Sharples and Joe Frederick.
"I am very excited to be working with the Las Vegas Wranglers and Glen Gulutzan," said Bilodeau. "It's a new start for me and I want to help the team as much as possible. I enjoyed playing in Las Vegas for the Thunder and I am looking forward to coming back out west again."
The 32-year old Bilodeau retired after a 12-year playing career. The former defenseman spent the last six years of his career as a Player/ Assistant coach for the Johnstown Chiefs. Bilodeau suited up for 779 career games in the AHL, IHL, ECHL and WCHL scoring 55 goals and 184 assists, while racking up 1,338 penalty minutes. Bilodeau played 18 games for the Las Vegas Thunder from 1996-98 with one assist and 39 penalty minutes. The Clyde, ALTA native was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the first round of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft (17th Overall). Bilodeau is married to former WNBA player Cass Bauer-Biledeau. The Wranglers and Bilodeau will face his former team when Las Vegas hosts the Johnstown Chiefs on Tuesday, November 29th at 7:05 pm.
"Brent is a guy who is going to be an important part of our staff here in Las Vegas," said General Manager / Head Coach Glen Gulutzan. "He comes highly recommended from anyone in the hockey world who knows him. I am looking forward to having him behind the bench with me as we work towards bringing a championship to Las Vegas."
Bilodeau will assume the responsibilities of former Assistant GM/ Assistant Coach Drew Schoneck. Schoneck was named the General Manager / Head Coach for the OCN Blizzard of the MJHL (Manitoba Junior Hockey League) on May 26th.
Las Vegas will open the 2005-06 season on the road in Utah on October 21st. The home opener is set for Tuesday, October 25th at 7:05 pm against the Utah Grizzlies. The Wranglers play all 36 home games at the Orleans Arena, located at the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue.
