
Serbus accepts job with Tampa Bay

Pensacola, Fla. - The 2005-2006 Brabham Cup Champion Pensacola Ice Pilots announced that Head Athletic Trainer Jason Serbus has accepted a position as Assistant Medical Trainer with the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League.
Serbus, who is currently working for United States Under-17 Select Team for the second year in a row in Switzerland, has been the Ice Pilots Head Athletic Trainer for the last four seasons. He represented the Ice Pilots as the athletic trainer at the 2004 Par-A-Dice ECHL All-Star game on January 21, 2004 in Peoria, Illinois.
Serbus, who is 30 years old, was named the 2003 Athletic Trainers Association of Florida Trainer of the Year in Professional Sports and worked training camp for the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning during the 2003-2004 season. Serbus was employed by NovaCare Rehabilitation, the Official Sports Medicine Provider of the Ice Pilots.
"Jason was not only a good employee but he became a great friend and it is great to see that a dream was fulfilled through hard work in getting to the next level. We are all very proud of Jason and his accomplishments of getting to the NHL and wish him the best of luck," said Ice Pilots owner Tim Kerr.
âI am very blessed to pursue my dream in the NHL. Pensacola has been wonderful for my wife Paula and I and we will miss the fans and everyone in the Ice Pilots organization," said Serbus. "I am very honored to be joining a first class organization in the Tampa Bay Lightning."
The Ice Pilots begin their tenth anniversary season wearing their new colors and logo at home on Saturday, October 22 vs. Mississippi at 7:05 p.m.
Season tickets for the Ice Pilots 2005-2006 season are on sale. Prices for all 36 home games for floor and glass seats are $678.96, side seats are $489.60, goal seats and lower upper seats are $443.52 and upper seats cost $356.40. Partial season ticket plans are also available for as low as $85.84. Fans can call the Ice Pilots office at 432-7825 for season ticket and corporate sponsorship information.
