Wranglers Add Laughlin to Roster
January 16, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that forward Kyle Laughlin has agreed to terms with the team and will play tonight in a road game against the Ontario Reign.
Laughlin ("Lock-lin"), 28, is returning to the ECHL after 20 games with the Reading Royals (1 goal, 1 assist) and eight games with the Johnstown Chiefs (1 assist) in 2009-10. The 6-foot, 190-pound forward appeared in training camp with the Wranglers last season, and then picked up 22 goals and 41 points with the Central Hockey League's Bloomington Blaze. Hailing from Gambrills, Maryland, Laughlin opened the 2012-13 season with the Southern Professional Hockey League's Huntsville Havoc, collecting three goals and seven points in 15 games.
His father, Craig Laughlin, spent eight seasons in the NHL, primarily with the Washington Capitals (1982-88). The elder Laughlin now serves as the Capitals' television color analyst.
The Wranglers play the Ontario Reign on the road tonight before returning home on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 7:05 p.m. to face the Colorado Eagles. For that game, the team will wear specialty 10th "FANniversary" jerseys featuring photos of 10-year season ticket holders, and celebrate the milestone throughout the game. The jerseys, presented by Diamondback Land Surveying, will be auctioned during the game on the Orleans Arena concourse and proceeds will benefit Children's Hospital of Nevada at UMC.
Celebrating 10 seasons of Wranglers hockey this year, group events are available at all home games, including pre-game ice skating parties, private luxury suites, and rink-side catered party boxes. Groups of ten or more can sit together starting at $13 per ticket, and feature perks such as in-game group recognition and "buy one, get one free" Chuck-A-Puck vouchers. Take advantage of the best deals by calling the Wranglers front office at (702) 471-PUCK . The Wranglers play all 36 regular season home games at Orleans Arena, located next to the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Ave.
