Martin Heads to Texas; Woodley Signs with Toledo

TOLEDO, OH - Forward Joey Martin has signed a player tryout agreement with the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League. Defenseman Ben Woodley has agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye.

Martin has collected 19 points (6g, 13a) in 29 games this season with the Walleye. The 24 year old led the Walleye last year in goals (22), assists (27) and points (49). He also skated in eight games last year with Houston in the AHL, scoring two goals. The native of Thorold, Ontario won ECHL Player of the Week honors for the week of the 9th through 15th of January last year.

A native of London, Ontario, Woodley joins Toledo after two seasons in the British Columbia Hockey League. The 6'6", 230 pound defenseman appeared in 59 games last season with the Prince George Spruce Kings and had 5 goals, 42 assists and 125 penalty minutes. He was the top scoring defenseman and 5th overall in scoring for the Spruce Kings last year. The 21 year old finished last year with the Evansville IceMen of the CHL playing in 3 playoff games with no points.
