Attendees at the Greenville Drive game on July 21st will be able to view the trophy, have their picture taken beside it, and share in the baseball glory Red Sox fans around the world have enjoyed since last October! Gates open at 6:00 PM for the 7:05 PM game against the Hagerstown Suns.
"Greenville sports fans and the Drive community of family and friends are part of baseball's most coveted accomplishment for the second time in four years" commented Drive Co-Owner and President Craig Brown. "The Red Sox success in 2007 was a direct reflection of their outstanding player development program, and the contribution Drive alumni like no-hit pitchers Clay Bucholz and Jon Lester, plus First Base Coach Luis Alicea, made to team is something we can all take pride in!"
In addition, the World Series trophy will make several pit stops and be showcased around the Upstate. Already scheduled are stops on WYFF's morning news program, Your Carolina Morning Show, The Rise Guys Morning Show, and the taping of the Drive Coaches Show at Michelin on Main. Photo opportunities with the trophy will not be available during these stops
"The heritage and strength of the baseball programs across the Upstate, at all levels, is second to none," added Drive General Manager Mike deMaine. "It's very gratifying to have a Major League partner with the standards and record of success the Red Sox have demonstrated as part of this community's baseball legacy."
