
Braves Take Loss to Kannapolis

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves were defeated by the Kannapolis Intimidators 4-2 Friday night at State Mutual Stadium in front of 3,347 fans.
Freddie Freeman's solo shot over the right-field wall put Rome on the board in the second inning 1-0.
The Intimidators surged ahead in the third to take the 2-1 lead when Sergio Morales scored on a ground out by Oney Guillen. Later in the inning Eduardo Escobar had an RBI single.
Kannapolis added a run in the fifth on an RBI single by Eduardo Escobar increasing the lead to 3-1. The Intimidators made it a 4-1 game in the sixth inning on a solo home run by Mark Fleisher.
Freeman got Rome to within two on an RBI double in the sixth but Kannapolis pitching held the Braves the rest of the way for the 4-2 final.
Miguel Socolovich (3-4) picks up the win for Kannapolis. Richard Sullivan (0-1) takes the loss for Rome going 4.2 innings with three runs one earned run and five strikeouts.
