
Intimidators Start Series In Rome With 4-2 Victory

Rome, GA - The Intimidators opened up a four-game series at State Mutual Stadium with a 4-2 victory over Rome. Mark Fleisher crushed his fourth home run in as many games to give him eight bombs for the season.
Kannapolis has won back to back games after dropping three straight. The Intimidators started the scoring in the third inning down 1-0. In the second, Sergio Morales led off with a double off the left field wall. After Matt Inouye reaches on an throwing error to put Morales at third and Inouye at second, Oney Guillen drives in Morales with a RBI groundout. Two batters later Eduardo Escobar singled to score Inouye and Kannapolis took a 2-1 lead.
The Intimidators added to the lead in the fifth inning with Escobar driving in Dale Mollenhauer with a single to make it 3-1.
Fleisher went yard in the sixth to make the lead 4-1.
Intimidators' starter Miguel Socolovich picked up the win (3-4) with six innings giving up three hits and two runs. Leroy Hunt earned the save (his fifth) with two scoreless innings of relief to close it out.
The Intimidators continue the series in Rome with game two of four starting at 7:00pm. Coverage starts at intimidatorsbaseball.com with Dan Bumpus at 6:45pm. The Intimidators are in the midst of a seven-game roadtrip and went 1-2 in Columbus before these next four in Rome.
