Worcester Tornadoes News Release
Worcester, MA - July 28, 2009 - The Worcester Tornadoes announced today that they have partnered with the Worcester Tree Initiative for their long anticipated "Asian Longhorned Beetle Eradication Night" scheduled for Thursday, July 30.
The night's events, which will be scattered through the Tornadoes 7:05pm game against the American Defenders of New Hampshire, will include a Worcester Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours Event, an Asian longhorned beetle headband giveaway, and performances by famous Beatles tribute band Beatles for Sale.
The Worcester Tree Initiative, a group made up of local community groups and businesses, will be at the park to educate Tornadoes fans about replanting the trees lost to the Asian longhorned beetle infestation. With the recent discovery of more infected trees in the Worcester area, the Worcester Tree Initiative's goal of restoring the urban forest in the Worcester area is more important than ever.
The Worcester Tornadoes' Fifth Anniversary Season is currently underway and tens of thousands of fans have already enjoyed a game at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field. With the Worcester Tornadoes in the chase for first place in the Can-Am League, and lots of great promotions coming up, Tornadoes tickets are going faster than ever.
