Indiana Fever News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Fever has waived Michelle Woods, trimming its training camp roster to 10 active participants prior to Saturday's preseason opener in Milwaukee, against the Chicago Sky.
Also in Fever camp is veteran forward Tamika Catchings, who continues her rehabilitation of an Achilles tendon injury sustained during Game 3 of the 2007 Eastern Conference Finals at Detroit.
Active veterans in camp include Alison Bales and Kasha Terry, and guard Tan White, who practiced for the first time on Monday after returning from overseas play in Latvia. The remainder of Indiana's training camp roster is comprised of rookies and free agents, including second-round draft pick Khadijah Whittington.
The Fever hosts a preseason game on May 7 against the Minnesota Lynx (7:00 p.m.). Its regular season opener is May 17 at Conseco Fieldhouse against the Washington Mystics (7:00 p.m.). Led by WNBA All-Stars Catchings, Katie Douglas and Tammy Sutton-Brown, the Fever bids for its first WNBA Finals appearance after reaching the Eastern Conference Finals in two of the past three seasons. Season tickets are available at FeverBasketball.com or by calling (317) 917-2500.
