
Atlanta Dream Announces Key Front Office Hires

ATLANTA, April 30, 2008 -The Atlanta Dream has hired Paige Blankenship as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Tonya Alleyne as Vice President of Media Relations and Allison Fillmore as Vice President of Ticket Sales, it was announced today by Team President Bill Bolen.
"We have said from the beginning that we would work to put the best possible team together, on and off the court," said Team President Bill Bolen. "With these hires, we have put together a staff with a wealth of experience and an understanding of what it takes for a franchise to succeed."
Blankenship comes to the Dream from Rightlook, Inc. in San Diego. She previously held marketing positions with the San Diego Padres, and Ogden Raptors Professional Baseball, Inc. She has a history of success in women's sports franchises - she was integral to the launch and success of the San Diego Spirit, a Women's United Soccer Association team (WUSA). Blankenship earned a Bachelor of Science from Weber State University and a Master of Arts in Sports Administration from San Diego State University.
Alleyne joins the Dream fresh off her second season as women's basketball head coach of the San Diego City College Knights. Previously, Alleyne was the Media Relations Director for the Richmond Rage of the American Basketball League. She also served as the head coach at Arcadia University and served as an assistant at the University of South Carolina and Fresno State University. Alleyne earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Corporate and Public Communication from Seton Hall. At Seton Hall, Alleyne was a standout basketball player from 1987 until 1992. She is ranked in three different categories on the Seton Hall career records list, including fifth in three-point field goals percentage (.355), eighth in assists (318), and sixteenth in free-throw percentage (.732).
Fillmore will use her knowledge of the Atlanta sports market, coming to the Dream from the Atlanta Falcons Football Club and Georgia Force Football Club. She served as Group Sales Manager with Maloof Sports and Entertainment in Sacramento where she worked with the WNBA's Sacramento Monarchs. She also worked as the special events consultant for the Cleveland Lumberjacks, an International Hockey League (IHL) team. Fillmore earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Administration and Business from Ohio University.
The Atlanta Dream will open their training camp on April 20. The Dream was officially announced as the 14th team in the WNBA on October 17, 2007. The Dream will begin play in May 2008 at Philips Arena, joining the Chicago Sky, Connecticut Sun, Detroit Shock, Indiana Fever, New York Liberty and Washington Mystics in the Eastern Conference. The team will tip-off in its first regular season home game on Friday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m. against defending Eastern Conference Champions the Detroit Shock.
