
Woods Named to ECHL's 15th Anniversary Second-Team

BILOXI, Miss. â The East Coast Hockey League announced its 15th Anniversary Team today and Mississippi Sea Wolves coach Bob Woods was named to the Second-Team Defense.
Woods played 10 seasons in the ECHL, including the last three years of his playing career with Mississippi from 1998-2001, highlighted by helping the Sea Wolves win the 1999 Kelly Cup Championship. He also suited up for the Johnstown Chiefs (90-94), Hampton Roads Admirals (95-96), Mobile Mysticks (96-97) and Tallahassee Tiger Sharks (97-98).
The 35-year-old native of LeRoy, Saskatchewan is in his second season behind the Mississippi bench as coach. He retired as the ECHL's all-time leader with 599 career regular season games and currently ranks second. Woods retired with the fifth-most assists in ECHL history (364) and currently ranks seventh. He was also named to the Second-Team All-ECHL in 1996-97 and 1998-99.
"It's a tremendous honor to be listed among this select group from the East Coast Hockey League," said Woods. "I would like to give credit to my past coaches and teammates, they were a big part of my success on the ice. I had a lot of great times as a player in the ECHL especially being a part of the Mississippi Sea Wolves Kelly Cup Championship in 1999."
The ECHL 15th Anniversary Team was determined in voting by coaches, players, front office personnel and media from the first 15 years of the ECHL.

The Sea Wolves hit the ice tonight at 7:05 p.m. at Louisiana's Cajundome for a first-place showdown with the IceGators. Mississippi leads Louisiana by one point in the Southwest Division Standings.
Mississippi returns home tomorrow to host the Arkansas RiverBlades at a new start time of 7:05 p.m. at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Adults purchasing a ticket get one free ticket for a child 12 and under.
