WAUSAU - The Wisconsin Woodchucks used five straight hits in the bottom of the eighth inning to score three runs and rally against the La Crosse Loggers, 4-3.

The Loggers struck early in the top of the first inning as Michael Katz hit a triple just out of the reach of Garrett Rucker that allowed Kevin Zak to come into score. Johnny Bekakis beat out an infield single to short that brought home Katz giving the Loggers an early 2-0 lead.

The Woodchucks would get one of those runs back thanks to a home run over the left-center field wall by Garrett Rucker to trail the Loggers 2-1.

The Loggers regained their two-run lead when Bekakis drove in another run this time by way of a sacrifice fly to right field allowing Mike Nadratowski to score.

Back-to-back doubles to lead off the eighth inning cut the Loggers' lead to one, the second of those doubles by Levi Meyer brought in Rucker on the play. The Woodchucks weren't done there as All-Star Matt Tellor hit a single up the middle that brought in John Menken, who was pinch-running for Meyer, to tie the game up at three. With Jake Jefferies up to the plate, the Woodchucks took the lead thanks to a ground ball that got through the right side of the infield. Josh Goossen-Brown wasn't sent home on the play initially, however Nadratowski bobbled the ball allowing Goossen-Brown to score giving the "˜Chucks a 4-3 lead.

Jake Jefferies went 4-for4 with all four hits being singles including the deciding hit in which Goossen-Brown came into score to give the Woodchucks the lead.

Austin Orewiler received the victory after he pitched one and one-third innings surrendering no runs. The loss was handed to Bobby Juan as he surrendered the go-ahead run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Max Ising came in to record the save in the ninth inning which is his fifth save on the season.
